16th Century Elizabethan Manor House

Rebuilt in 1565 this ancient, fortified, hilltop manor house near Preston has retained its original Tudor-Elizabethan character and construction in its entirety.  It occupies a commanding position at the end of a magnificent long drive, and at 650ft above sea level has with impressive views of Lancashire, the Lake District and North Wales.

Ideal period setting for drama productions (good option for use as Unit Base) and themed events & conferences.

Previous productions include ‘Moll Flanders’ 1996 (Granada), ‘Casanova’ 2005 (Red Productions/BBC/Granada), ‘Life on Mars’ 2006 (BBC) , ‘Cold Blood’ 2005 (Granada)

This venue also has a wedding license, eerie dungeons, original furnishings, paintings and tapestries.
